Alex Runo is a singer born in to soul, blues, gospel and rock music. A Swedish recording artist, musician, songwriter and producer. Now meets then, high meets low, loud meets soft, and dirty meets the sweetest and most vulnerable.
– That’s how it feels like when listening to Alex Runo’s music. Even though there’s some drama, build ups and unpredictable turnarounds, everything is flowing smoothly. Smooth as in symbiosis. Alex Runo and his co-writers have one important goal during the whole writing process, and that is to come up with songs that communicates, – songs that makes the listeners feel something, whatever that might be. They write music with lots of soul, and the best pay off would be if their music could touch other people’s souls as well.

I was brought up with the (in my opinion) greatest singers, songwriters and musicians in the world. Sam Cooke, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding are a few of the artists from whom I draw my inspiration.

LINGER, based in Sweden, Stockholm, originated in 2019 as a vehicle for the collaborative songwriting of brothers Tomas Juto and Tony Lind. Christopher Broman Tak (who had participated as a session player on every previous LINGER release) was added as a third member in 2025. With a strong D.I.Y. ethic and a desire for artistic collaborations with other creators from different fields, LINGER make movies for your ears, combining meticulous craftmanship with spontaneity.
Storytelling time:
LINGER’s modus operandi ever since the first album ‘Toward the Sun’ (2021) has been to assemble their favorite musicians, and without prior rehearsals or written charts work extremely efficiently in the studio (basic tracks for the 14 songs on ‘Your favorite noose’ were recorded in 4 days, much like previous albums), in order to capture lightning in a bottle, the beautiful spark of spontaneous creativity, and then embellish these performances with added parts, getting the best of both worlds. You get the nerve of fresh inspiration (not seldom a first or second take), but the deliberate attention to detail of carefully crafted overdubs. The result carries both energy and depth, every song very much a powerful tableau.
