Elin Wrethov

For about ten years now I have worked as a lyricist at Roastinghouse publishing. I find great joy in having the possibility to write for very different artists in different genres; one day a rock ballad and the next an uptempo pop song.

Among the international artists I’ve worked with so far are million recordselling Arash, Chipz, Carlito, Tackey & Tsubasa, Tegomass, Super Junior and SM Town. I have also written for several domestic Swedish artists, such as Sofie, Hasse Andersson, Sannex and Fame factory artists.

It all started in the 1980’s when me and my younger brother grew up in the countryside in the south of Sweden. We used to play a lot together (he the guitar and I the violin) and we composed our own songs (he the music and I the lyrics). So we have continued.

After graduating from the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication at Stockholm University I now combine two great careers; as a journalist I write for the daily newspaper Helsingborgs Dagblad, and as a lyricist I write to artists all over the world.

I still work a lot with my brother, Anderz Wrethov, but of course also with other composers, such as Johan Beijerholm and Robert Uhlmann.

Some successful songs of mine are Always (Aysel & Arash) 3rd place in Eurovisiong song contest, Carnival (Chipz), nr 1 in the Netherlands and top 20 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Endless moment (Super junior) top 10 in South Korea, Wild night (Hatsuuta), Johnny’s countdown at Tokyo Dome.
