July 23rd, 2010Today I’ve mixed a speaker voice over some background music that I recorded yesterday. It’s kind of hard, you don’t have a natural reference when you have a voice announcing an important message over a wall of music…….
My body is screaming that it’s impossible to hear somebody talking in natural mode to be heard that clear over the music…… but it has to be that way in this case. BTW – the voice is wonderful and the message as well so I’m fine with it

TV production/Interview
July 22nd, 2010Today we also had a camera crew at our facilities recording a production that will be aired on one of the major TV channels later this year. I’m sorry but I can’t revile any names yet.

July 20th, 2010I’m finished a first draft of LULA SWEET’s song, “Velvet Superman”. I hope the band will like the mix. I also made a mix on STONE AD’s song, “Pain Stands Behind” without the loops and FX for there reference. I do understand the band that it’s hard to make a decision of which mix they’ll use. After all it’s kind of a “big” change I did with the FX.

July 19th, 2010At the moment I’m mixing a song called “Velvet Superman” with the Belgium band, LULA SWEET. It’s an electro/pop/rock track with female vocals. I’m trying to make it more “in your face” with the girls and a lot of energy with the rest of the band. I’m getting there but I had to take a break, it’s warm………puh………..
STONE AD
July 16th, 2010Yesterday I deliver the first mix of, “Pain Stands Behind” and the band had some issues with the loops so I just made a new mix for them to listen to. I totally understand the band, if you make “big” changes it takes time to refocus on the song. The changes I’ve made is to put the loops even more dominant in the mix. The first mix I made I put the loops with in the music barely noticeable. Let’s see if they like it more “in your face”.

July 16th, 2010I told you earlier about the missing keyboard tracks on the song, “Mind Diary” that I’m mixing for the Rock Band video game. I couldn’t find them any where so I had to ask Micke (lead vocals in the band) for the live back tracks. I’m a really happy guy, the BT contains only the keyboards that are missing in the main session and this means that I can deliver the production parts to USA.

July 15th, 2010Today I’ve finished the first mix of STONE AD’s third song, “Pain Stands Behind”. I decided to put in some loops and FX in the mix to make it more interesting. I also made a DAT transfer of an old demo on to Pro Tools with a band called, PANDEMONIUM. BTW- I’ve mixed their previous album a while ago. Now I’ll have a meeting with a band that are interested to record their album at RoastingHouse.

July 14th, 2010Today we received 3 holds. “After The Rain” (Anders Grahn/James Flannigan) on hold for a up coming German artist has had a top 14 Single Hit in DE already. “Don’t Break My Heart” (Alexander Holmgren/Anderz Wrethov/Carl Utbult) and “The Weekend” (Mans EK/Anders Grahn) both on hold for a Chinese artist signed to a major independent label in Japan. Fingers crossed for the cuts!!!!
